We would love it if everyone – registered teams, teams who've yet to sign up, "free agents” looking for teams, fans and friends of 48 Hour Film Project...from the "four corners" of the Inland Empire (Apple Valley/the Nevada border; Palm Springs/the Coachella Valley; Temecula/Southwest Riverside County; Rancho Cucamonga/Northwest San Bernardino County) and beyond (Orange County + SD and LA film pals!) – to come to this event in the private basement of Back to the Grind in Riverside. FREE admission + FREE drawing for door prizes (Panasonic director's vests, UltraStar Cinemas movie passes, plus more!) FREE hugs, to boot! To rev up everybody – in every sense of the word – Back to the Grind will be selling a special caffeinated beverage in honor of us. It'll be called “The 48 Hour.” For folks wanting to drink something *stronger** after 7 p.m.: We’ll cross the street to Lake Alice, where they will be selling a special-for-us alcoholic, White Russian'ish concoction called “The Film Project.” In addition to our usual M+G film showcase and filmmaker panel, at Back to the Grind, anyone who wants to participate in 48HFP but is not yet on a team will have the opportunity to "pitch" themselves to the teams in attendance. This is our last event before our competition weekend, Aug. 6-8. Everyone - please attend, for one giant group huddle + last hurrah before it's "nose to da grindstone" time! Thanks to everyone who's attended our events and supported 48 Hour Film Project - Inland Empire, in any way. We are so happy over all the enthusiasm, friendships, and collaborations - now and for the future - that we have seen. Everyone = a winner! Best of luck on your journeys, everybody -Alan + Jeanette. P.S. Special thanks to Back to the Grind (Darren + friends) for letting us use their awesomene venue. They've been so supportive of independent filmmaking, art + culture in the Inland Empire for years now (e.g., Saturation Fest, location for a certain 48HFP-IE team's non-48 films). Lake Alice, too, has in the past allowed their great venue for film shoots. Independent Filmmakers of the Inland Empire - please utilize your awesome local, indie-friendly resources!

MEET + GREET (PLUS, EAT LATER) - RIVERSIDE: July 21 (Wednesday).
Due to scheduling and venue conflicts, the Rancho Cucamonga/Ontario area Meet and Greet planned for July 21 has been swapped out for...a Meet and Greet in Riverside!
On July 21, from 5 to 6:30/6:45 p.m., please come on out to UC-Riverside's fantastic California Museum of Photography (3824 Main St., Riverside CA 92501; next to the “starbase” of the Star Trek exhibit) for the picture-perfect, Spock-like spot to learn about the Inland Empire edition of the world's largest timed-filmmaking competition, The 48 Hour Film Project!
Form or add to your team; network; "talk shop"; watch 48HFP-IE films from previous years (including 2009 IE champ and 2nd Runner-up in the world, "Rationed" by Vegan Cannibals) and ask their filmmakers what were the best and worst parts of their experience; and yes...try to win some of our giveaways, too, including UltraStar Cinemas movie passes! Yep, it's a FREE event!
After the Meet and Greet, at 7 p.m. a few blocks away at The Plum House coffee shop (3882 12th St., Riverside, CA 92501; behind Clark’s Nutrition Center), please join one of our awesome partners/sponsors, Independent Filmmakers of the Inland Empire, for their Meetup! Admission is $5, which includes a copy of the July issue of ICG magazine (while supplies last!). Get 1/2 off the admission price with food/beverage purchase at The Plum House. They've got prizes, too; one raffle ticket included with paid admission! More info on the Meetup: http://ifotie.com
